E-Commerce Web Design Trends

The web as we know it has indeed gone a long way in becoming an awe-inspiring platform for varying e-commerce businesses. And web designs trends continue to grow and evolve just like any other industry. Today’s popular e-commerce web design could be obsolete tomorrow.

This is the challenging task that has befallen 21st-century web designers. They have to predict and come up with a web design landscape that is productive in achieving business goals. These web designs need to entice users to purchase an item as many times as possible for businesses to grow and profit.

But nobody really knows for sure which design will rule since e-commerce is also evolving according to consumer behaviour, societal changes and simply the changing time. However, there are trends that hit the e-commerce market and there are those that still thrive in importance.

2016 saw the spread of flat design partially thanks to Google’s Material Design. The same year also catered to a responsive design for e-commerce sites. And it’s no surprise that influential sites like Google, Bing (yes, it still lives!) and Amazon have introduced web design trends for 2017, from mobile SEO changing the world to the exit of hamburger menus.

Thus, listed in the infographic below is basically a snapshot of the popular e-commerce web design trends of 2017. And from this compilation, we could see what the future holds for web design in the coming year.
