Why Web Design Is Like Playing Football

Some of you may not be familiar with web designing, but surely you have some insight as to how football works. Explore the similarities of these two, and surely grasp the general idea of how to design and run your own website.

Web design, just like football — requires proper planning, teamwork, strategy, and aiming the goals:

Strong formation

Before you start building a website, you first have to assemble your own team in place. Recognize who the top players are and get them into a formation. Your engineers, designers, copywriter, marketing team, photographer, and support team; they all play an essential role in making a successful website.

You wouldn’t want to begin your ultimate project without preparing everyone and letting them know about your goals. Substitutions are fine within the game, but there should be players who already learned to the art of working harmoniously with the other team mates.

Pass often

A triumphant game only happens when the team is playing well together. Football is in fact, a team sport – just as well as web design. For instance, your engineer should always inquire with your designer about their thoughts, and vice versa.

Everyone must “pass” the project along to the other members in order to get their input and eventually, assemble a website together. When your team is functioning at its best, you can be assured that each passes will reach their respective destination and goals will be reached. The same is true for your own web design team.

Be in the field

Understanding what the project will require and carefully planning each step is very crucial, if you want the website launch to be a success. Who will be in charge during the first half of the game? Who shall be the players that carries it through the finished goal?

Web designing, like football, is not always a straight drive for you can always circle back just to ensure that the prior steps are re-worked if need be.

Stay in the game

In truth, even after all the careful planning in the world, there will be unexpected bumps along the way. Knowing when a project is already turning towards the wrong direction is crucial, and needs immediate intervention.

Having a strong project leader who can determine when a project needs proper correction is truly important. So is having a team who are able to let their team mates know when they need to step up the game. The last thing you want is to be within inches from the goal, only to realize that a specific code you encoded during stage one does not efficiently work.
